I stayed here on a railfan vacation as the hotel is ideally suited across the road from one of the busiest stretches of track in the US. It is out in the wilds being over 30 miles from the nearest substantial town and seems mainly to be used by train crew. The hotel itself is modern and the rooms are large and comfortable. Included in the rate is a freshly cooked breakfast at the adjoining Penny’s Diner. But what could have been a great experience was let down by a number of problems. The biggest was that the hotel website, which for days had been showing plenty of rooms available, suddenly claimed that it was full when I went to book just before my planned visit. There was also no reply when I tried to call them. As a result I had to go to the hotel early in the day to check availability. It turned out that there were plenty of rooms available – there had been a fault on the website - and I was able to get an early check in. But I had to change my schedule and this should not happen in a well-run system. The room also lacked a coffee machine and the internet connection was very erratic. I was also disappointed in the food at Penny’s Diner. The choice was limited and the prices were high – as indeed was the price for the room itself - and with the remote location there is no alternative.

I saw Mule Deer and Antelope outside the window in the hall. Take your camera for the sunrise or sunset. We loved the people in the Penny's Dinner they were so nice the food is outstanding. The Bill store across the highway has great t-shirts and there is a bar over there with great people there also. We have stayed here 2 years in a row in October and will stay here when we are in the area. We love the place. We talked to a local man by the name of Bud who was a real treasure who told us some local history.

The hotel is about half an hour north of Douglas, and just about the only thing in Bill, WY. There's a very nice little diner, the rooms are large and extremely quiet, and you can walk down the dirt road to see the incredible night sky (and listen to the coyotes howl!). I would definitely stay there again if I passed through the area.

I stayed here in late April 2011 with my son and a friend. The hotel is associated with the adjacent Diner. The hotel is clean and well presented. It is basic, and you seem to need a degree to operate the TV/Satellite remote(!), but the rooms are clean and comfortable, with coffee and microwave machines in-room. The hotel does a lot of business with the nearby railroad, but that absolutely should not put you off. The staff in the diner and the hotel were extremely friendly. The food in the diner is not five-star, but it is good, honest fayre, prepared and served by people who care about what they are preparing and how it is served. The cleanliness of the diner is truly awesome - ALL the staff take great pride and attention to detail, which is absolutely to their credit. All the staff made us welcome, and have a "down home" manner which you never get in any city hotel. If you happen to be into the trains, stay here and NOT in Douglas! You won't be disappointed (but make sure you have plenty of gas as there is nowhere here to fill your car).

An extraordinary place. Built in December 2007 by the Union Pacific railroad company for its train crews and located in the middle of nowhere (Bill) about 30 miles north of Douglas on Highway 59. It is run, however, by a hotel management company and has its own website. You check in at the attached diner where the price also includes a good cooked breakfast. The rooms are comfortable and almost uniquely in my experience - they are quiet. They are designed to be well insulated because crews are coming in and out at all times. I couldn't even hear the trains! Staff were pleasant and the stay was a splendid start to our vacation. Note its location though. Expedia's map currently has it located in Douglas and it is far enough away not to be convenient if you are using I25
